About the Club
Airdrie and Coatbridge Photographic Club was formed in 1998 by the amalgamation of Airdrie Camera Club and Coatbridge Photographic Association. The club is affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) through the Scottish Photographic Federation (SPF) and is also a member of the Glasgow District Photographic Union (GDPU).

The club is principally funded by annual subscription at a current rate of £30. Payment of the annual fee is due at the commencement of each new season. Potential new members are welcome to attend a few meetings free of charge whilst deciding whether or not to join. A fee of £2 each evening helps to pay for the external speakers and judges.
Meetings
The club meets at 7:30pm each Tuesday night from September through to April (excluding holidays) and finishes around 9:30pm. The club attracts a wide range of interesting speakers, catering for a variety of interests and levels of expertise. Several practical sessions are also organised during the summer months.
Internal Club competitions
Members are encouraged to submit entries for competitions which are held bi-monthly from October to March with two digital image and two print competitions. Entering the competitions not only provides the opportunity to receive feedback on your own and other member’s photography but also provides material for the club to enter external competitions. A final open competition will also be held at the end of each season.
External Competitions
The club aims to take part in a number of external events annually:

The Scottish Photographic Federation (SPF) runs several competitions throughout the year and Camera Clubs throughout Scotland can participate.

The Glasgow District Photographic Union (GDPU) consist of those clubs located, more or less, in the west of Scotland and they hold competitions where clubs are organised into mini groups to compete with each other to reach a final at the end of each season.
Local Club Competitions
There are local arrangements whereby the club competes annually with a few of the local Camera Clubs
